Peripheral Artery Disease Exercise training
This is an intermittent walking program with periods of rest. The goal is to walk until moderate-maximal claudication, or pain in the legs.
Goals are to increase functional capacity, increase walking distance, decrease symptoms, and reduce risk factors for PAD, coronary artery disease, and stroke.
AHA shows an average of 82% change in peak walking distance (or an increase by 307 meters) (2011 study).
