  • Cardiac rehab is a monitored exercise and education program. A heart monitor (EKG) will be placed to watch heart rate and heart rhythm as you go through different exercises. The exercise that you do will be based on your individual needs and abilities. We will start at your fitness level and progress from there. Some of the exercise equipment available includes treadmills, bikes, seated steppers, and weight training. The other half of the program is education. The three categories of education include nutrition (teaching and cooking demonstrations), exercise, and healthy mindset (stress, healthy sleep, etc.).

  • If you’ve had any of the following events or procedures, you likely qualify for cardiac rehab:

    Stent placement

    Heart attack (NSTEMI/STEMI)

    Valve repair/replacement

Chronic systolic heart failure (EF <35%)

    Coronary bypass surgery (CABG)

    Stable angina

    Heart transplant

  • *Lower your risk of future cardiac events

*Control heart disease symptoms (chest pain and shortness of breath)

*Reduce your cardiac risk factors (improved blood pressure, lower cholesterol and weight, and improved blood sugar)

*Cardiac rehab reduces hospital admissions by 31%

*Patients who complete cardiac rehab are 53% less likely to die from any cause and 57% less likely to have a cardiac-related death than those who don't complete rehab

*1 in 5 people will have a second heart attack; cardiac rehab reduces that risk by 47%
